Present Day, May 23, 2026

The Geometry of Ruin is in the world. World Goth Day. May 22 has passed and the album exists now in the way that things that have been released exist: no longer mine in any exclusive sense, belonging to whoever hears it and brings their own accumulated weight to the listening.

I made this record because the coordinates were recognizable. Because the geometry that I have watched complete itself many times in five centuries was at the stage where testimony was more useful than silence. Because the music is the form that bypasses the usual defenses, that reaches something that argument and documentation and ordinary language cannot quite reach.

Whether it works in the way I hope: I do not know. I have offered maps before. Maps help some people navigate and are ignored by others. The offering of the map is not a guarantee of its use. It is simply the act available to the one who holds the map.

What I feel, the day after the release: not relief, exactly. Something more like the specific quality of having set down something that was very heavy, while knowing that the setting down is not permanent, that the weight of witnessing continues, that tomorrow I will be back in it. But today: the testimony is delivered. The chronicle exists in the world. The wheel turns. What we build from the ashes: that story is not yet written. That is your part. Mine was to witness and document. I have done the part that was mine to do.
